SPEAKING • WORKSHOPS • PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The moments we create become the meaning kids make.

A child finds a star inside an apple. Another says “no, thank you” at dinner. Both are learning about food.

In talks and workshops, pediatric dietitian Dani Lebovitz helps parents, educators, and health professionals see what kids are learning in everyday moments and make more room for curiosity, confidence, and connection.

SIGNATURE TALK

The Invisible Curriculum™

What kids learn about food when no one’s teaching

Long before a child can read a nutrition label, they’re taking mental notes. They notice how the adults around them talk about food and bodies, what gets praised or pushed at the table, and what happens at birthday parties, holidays, and school lunch.

Dani’s proprietary Invisible Curriculum™ helps adults notice what kids are learning from everyday moments around food and their bodies. Once you see those moments, you can begin shaping them with intention.

Attendees walk away with:

  • A clear picture of the three ways kids learn about food outside any lesson plan
  • Phrases to use in place of “good food,” “bad food,” and “just one more bite”
  • A plan for responding to food and body comments from family, friends, and other caregivers
  • Tools they can use at the very next meal or class

The 3 Ms

Modeling: What they see

How adults eat, talk about their own bodies, and react to new foods teaches kids what “normal” looks like.

Messaging: What they hear

The words we use about food, bodies, and eating matter, including the offhand comments we don’t think twice about.

Moments: What they experience

Mealtimes, celebrations, and school or social situations are where kids can form beliefs about food that last.
