Always on the lookout to keep abreast of the most current children’s nutrition and food books, I came across a brand-new series of board books that are the perfect prequel to my book series, “Where Do Banana’s Come From? A Book for Fruits?” entitled “Mrs. Peanuckle’s Fruit Alphabet” and “Mrs. Peanuckle’s Vegetable Alphabet.”

Following the successful Kickstarter for Bananas, I realized that I love writing and educating, but can use some help with publishing. One day while I was researching publishers that would align with my mission of inspiring children to discover and engage with food through fun experiences and decrease chronic disease, I came across a press release about a new division of the publisher Rodale called Rodale Kids. You know the parent company, Rodale, for their self-help, weight loss and fitness titles such as The South Beach Diet, Wheat Belly, the Women’s Health Big Book of Exercises and many, many more.

As quoted from the Rodale Kids imprint Vice President and Publisher Gail Gonzales, the books are designed to “nourish the imagination, encourage a lifelong love of reading, and motivate good habits of nutrition, fitness, mindfulness, and environmental responsibility, all across a variety of age ranges.”

As a person passionate about all things health, wellness, and education with a desire to encourage kind ambassadors of the world, I wanted to learn more about the books and share my findings of these titles with you.

I reached out to one of the authors of a book that was just released (more on this book in my next blog post – Chef Gino’s Taste Test Challenge: a new cookbook for kids! – which is Ahhh-mazing by the way!) and got connected with a very kind Associate Publisher that offered an opportunity to give-away a few copies of my favorite newly-released titles! Which leads me to the purpose of this post… the cutest fruit and veggies board books you have ever seen!

Shiloh loves these books! Seriously. I am not embellishing the truth for the sake of a blog post. When we are playing in the living room, she pulls these fruit and veggie books off the shelf (a baby after my own produce loving heart) and turns the pages herself!

Mrs. Peanuckle’s fruit and vegetable alphabet books introduce babies and toddlers to the ABCs and produce in a playful, charming and relatable approach to education. From the fun facts (which we at Experience Delicious live for!) to the vibrant colors, to the personable fruit/veggie character illustrations, to the engaging fonts, the illustrator Jessie Ford has an eye for making these books fun, even for the parent who read the same books over and over.
